Guess what? I made some new shirts for my Zazzle store last night.
Check them out and let me know what you think. Here is a brief description of each as they came into my head:
Another in an apparently LONG line of ‘My Other T-Shirt’ shirts. I couldn’t find anything exactly the same, but only mildly different already on the nets, so we’ll see if I have blatantly ripped off someone else when the DMCA notice lands in my inbox.
My other T-Shirt was at the dry-cleaners on Alderaan… so yeah.
I get a LOT of help desk tickets daily. Approximately 2/3 (ish) of them are so vague, i have to wonder if these people even know what the real issue is. I’ve wanted to start answering all emails and phone calls with a paraphrase from Star Trek: Please State The Nature of your IT EMERGENCY (because they are ALL emergencies, right?) now i have a t-shirt that says it for me!
ROBOTS! we love robots here at the Assorted Robot Meat Company! obv. So, this is a new-old design. Was first posted back in like 1978…. or later probably.
A couple more one-offs, because t-shirts get boring sometimes. You need a hoodie and a mug of coffee on a cold day in Seattle to do the deep thinking required to under stand the #NSA…
The last thing is just a self-indulgent crap-shoot. Like MC Front’s glasses, I don’t actually expect anyone to BUY this, but just knowing that i can put it up for sale makes me feel good about myself:
Just checked the mail, and my shirt order from CafePress came in. I’m very excited. Of all the screend printed and airbrushed art shirts i’ve had over the years, i’ve never had one with one of my own designs on it.
I think they came out pretty good. The ‘rolling robot’ design needs some work. ‘Robot’s Balloons’ looks awesome though.
And they came out much clearer and BIGGER than I thought they would!
I’m getting excited again about creatung stuff. It’s one thing to say ‘yeah, I have t-shirts for sale,’ and another entirely to be holding one and know that tomorrow you’re going to wear it!
Hola people who like… stuff.
I have two new designs out this week at the ‘ol Assorted Robot Meats Cafe Press Store . As a regular reader of this blog you WILL recognize these as having been posted in the past.
Robot's Balloons, as seen on a nice gray shirt.
Robot Has Lost His Balloons
One is what I promised earlier, a version of “Robot’s Balloons,” which features a simple, child-like robot chasing after his lost balloons. It’s one of the first crop of circular headed robots that was actually thought out, and not just, you know, thrown at a yellow note pad. It is also a drawing that was inspired by my lovely-talented-and-super-awesome wife. She suggested that if I was going to draw a robot that it be neither scary, mean, nor stupid. And there you have it!
Design #2 this week is the ‘cute-yet-pathetic-almost-baby-bird-like’ guy from a couple weeks ago. I like him, even though I have no idea what to call him. Which reminds me:
This week, if you have a few spare minutes, have a run through the MAS ART Archive located conveniently: HERE. I’m looking for titles, captions, comments, etc. Whatever floats your boat really. The best stuff will become the actual title of that work, and maybe some other stuff will happen involving all of the known Universe not being vaporized by some half-cat’s bad poetry being read to a Vogon, or something. who knows.
Ok, well that wraps up this post, thanks again and don’t forget to check out the STORE!
Tonight’s ‘Creative Output’ is something I’ve considered doing for some time now. Selling some stuff!
I spent last night and most of today creating designs for and opening a storefront at Cafe Press.
Now you can be the first on your block to own…. this:
And other fine merch emblazoned with ‘Robot Meat’ original art.
Seriously though, I think this is a pretty big step for me. Not just to create something, and to send it out into the world, but to see if anyone will actually want to plunk down coinage for it. This year has been pretty interesting in a lot of different ways for me. One thing i decided early on in 2010 was that I would try to ramp up my creativity. I’ve done that in different ways, writing this blog on a fairly regular basis for one. And everything from my ‘Doodles of the Day’ and the more informal ‘Creative Output’ posts, pretty much the opposite of my old early 20’s approach, drawing and painting, then hiding it all in the closet.
The options available at the store are fairly limited right now, and i consider this attempt to be in Beta. As I progress and post more content I will expand the store as well. Maybe if I think there is enough interest in the store I’ll do something else with a POD site and have prints and things…. but thats getting the cart ahead of the llama, if you know what I mean!
